Teachers not currently resident in the UK, who are seeking to relocate to this country may not be eligible for some or all of these incentives. It is essential therefore for applicants to check eligibility.
Each incentive is a scheme that schools may buy into. Availability will need to be checked with each school. Any figures used are for the purpose of illustration and can vary with individual circumstances. Specific conditions apply to some schemes.
Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) can start work in June or July and be paid over the school summer holiday period.

For teachers who need to relocate to Thurrock (previously living more than 25 miles from the place of work).
A monthly addition to salary based upon the additional mortgage costs involved in moving to Thurrock.
First time buyers are eligible.
The scheme is subject to Income Tax and National Insurance and lasts 5 years.

Priority public housing is provided for teachers through Housing list and specific teacher accommodation on Education-owned premises.
Single accommodation is more readily available than family.

Hours 8:00am - 5:00pm term time.
Available to Thurrock Council employees.
Subsidised T-card provides membership of Leisure clubs, swimming and golf course.
